Venture Startup and Financing SIG: A Night with Javelin Venture Partners – Monday June 18th, 2012
Presentation and Pitch Session: Come listen and pitch to Javelin Venture Partners
Javelin Venture Partners was founded by former entrepreneurs with a first-hand appreciation of what it takes to develop a company from concept to thriving enterprise. We have been in your chair...resource constrained and exhausted, but driving forward with full confidence that your start-up has incredible potential to change the world. They help – providing capital, guidance, access to an expansive network and most importantly, entrepreneurial DNA.
Javelin invests in early-stage tech companies with incredible potential, managed by teams of energetic, trustworthy and capable leaders. Key focus areas include digital/social media, web services/commerce, mobile, cloud and enterprise/healthcare IT. They look for advanced bleeding-edge innovations, where the addressable market size is substantial and strong competitive advantages exist. A typical investment is between $500K to $3 million, with reserves for follow-on investments. They will also consider smaller seed investments for unique companies just getting started. Officesare located in San Francisco, but they will invest throughout the world.
Learn about Javelin Ventures perspective as to what is they are interested in, what they are investing in and how they operate. We will also talk about their approach to working with companies, how they get their members involved and how they are different from other venture capital firms. We will discuss some of the common traits of those companies selected to present to their partnership and those which ultimately were funded.
We will select up to 8 ventures to do 3-minute pitches followed by 3 minutes of feedback.
